The year 2013 appears to me to like all others, as people are already looking for the most anticipated and awaited movies. Like always, most of the marketing flacks and freaks have started advertising and hyping their movies. The year 2012 was indeed not the end of the planet, as we had predicted before on this website. Similarly, there is also no end to the movies which are being released every now and then. There are a plethora of movies which the film fans and enthusiasts are looking for. But for me, the thing which is worth appreciating here is that a number of movies would be released in this year which would come to be racially diverse. So, this list is indeed going to take you on a journey into the depths of the filming world. Here are the top 10 most awaited movies of 2013. Hope you will find this list entertaining.
10. R.I.P.D-June 27
Things might have not worked well for Ryan Reynolds in his movie, Green Lantern, but the guy sure has a talent. People have indeed changed their views about him based on his acting whims seem in the movie Change Up. The movie deals with the afterlife of a cop who joins the Rest in Peace Department for the pursuit of his killer. The hype of the movie has been around for quite some time now, so let us wait and see how the film turns out to be.
9. Oldboy-October 11
Now here we have another upcoming movie directed by Spike Lee. The story deals with a common man who has very little time left for finding out the answers to his imprisonment for nearly 15 years. The lead role in this remake is being played by Josh Brolin. So, he sets out to find some explanations for the years of his life wasted in the prison.
8. The Wolf of Wall Street-Initial Release
The producer and the lead of the movie is the super star, Leonardo DiCaprio. The plot centers on the life of a stock broker who had been imprisoned for nearly 20 months for not cooperating in a security fraud case. The case involved a wide spread corruption which was linked to the corporate world of Wall Street. Furthermore, Jonah Hill also has a part to play for this movie. So, based on the cast of the movie it can be said that the fans should wait for the release.
7. Oz The Great and Powerful-March 8
Hollywood directors and producers have always been looking for making a proper movie about the wizard of Oz. The concept of the movie has been around for quite some time now. The lead will be played by James Franco who would be appearing as the young wizard, Oz. The plot would circle around the magical events that would take place with the wizard who used to be a con artist and how he fell in love with a witch played by Michelle Williams. But to make things more exciting, he would have to fight an evil sorceress.
6. The Counselor-November 15
The lead role in this thriller film is being played by Michael Fassbender dealing with the events of a lawyers life who finds himself strangling himself out of drug trafficking. Furthermore, Brad Pitt is also playing a role beside the former sexiest man in the world. That’s not all, as the cast also includes Cameron Diaz and the gorgeous Penelope Cruz.
5. The Bling Ring
Now here we have a movie which is based on true events, which is not something now. But there are a few twists and turns in the plot which are sure to make the entire story exciting. The plot deals with some obsessed teenagers who try to rob the homes of celebrities in order to get some fame of their own. The cast of the film includes Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, Erin Daniels and others. What’s more interesting is that they make use of the internet for getting to know the whereabouts of the super stars and icons.
4. Star Trek into Darkness
Here we have a prequel to the super hit and well known franchise, Star Trek. The plot deals with Captain Kirk and others, going into a war zone for retrieving a single man weapon of mass destruction and for the settlement of an old score. The film has been directed and produced by J.J. Abrams. The star cast of the movie includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, John Cho and many more. So, here we can say that this block buster is indeed one of the most highly anticipated.
3. Elysium-9th August
Before I go to the star cast of the movie, let me share a bit with you about the plot. The story has been set in the year 2159 where all the elites and rich people reside on a space station, while the remaining people reside on the earth which is not in the best shape for survival. So, here a man (Matt Damon) sets out on a mission for equality and justice for all. The cast also includes Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Alice Braga and Sharlto Copley.
2. Iron Man 3-April 24
Iron Man 3 is indeed one of the most loved and anticipated super hero movies of the present times. The most expected date for the release is April 24, but as always the dates can be changed. In the movie, Stark goes against a very powerful enemy whose power is really limitless. Furthermore, stark also finds his personal life destroyed and ruined, so he sets out on a journey to trace out the people responsible. But the plot is not as simple as it might appear to be, so it is better to wait for the release and see all the action and Sci-fi adventure.
1. Man of Steel-June 13
There is no other movie which deserves the number 1 spot for this list than the upcoming super hero movie, Man of Steel. Zack Snyder is the director and Christopher Nolan is one of the people producing the movie, so it can be said that the movie is really going to be a jaw breaker and block buster. The role of superman is being played by Henry Cavill alongside Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Furthermore, Michael Shannon would be playing the role of General Zod who has powers similar to Superman.
