Top 10 Batsmen in World Cup 2011

Cricket is a very well-known sport and is played in many countries. Cricket lovers from distant places come to see live matches of their favorite players/teams and enjoy every moment of it to the hilt. I am not much of a cricket lover but the Bollywood movie “Lagaan” was an interesting film in which the whole story revolves around cricket. Previously, there used to be Test and One Day matches but recently a new version of the game has been invented which to no ones’ surprise has gained a lot of popularity in very short time period. It is called T20 which comprises of just twenty overs against fifty overs in a traditional One Day match. People love the excitement and drama which lingers throughout the limited game of twenty overs. As my today’s topic is about the batsmen so let me tell you some interesting facts about them before starting the ranking section formally. Shahid Afridi, a Pakistani batsman, holds a record of scoring fastest century in ODI. What is I say that he didn’t have a bat with himself and rather borrowed one from Waqar Younis. Sounds interesting!.  Let us go back to a World Cup match of 1975 in which only 36 runs was scored by Gavaskar while he batted 60 overs and was not out. Little surprise India lost that match to England. Such a waste of overs!. Anyways these are just exceptions to this game as there are very resplendent players too in this arena. Let us take a look at them and their rankings in the top ten list. Bear in mind that this list in strictly in connection to the Cricket World Cup 2011.
